FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does the ACC and PCC program include 10 mentor coaching hours?
Yes. It includes seven live group hours and three individual hours, completed over at least three months. The five self-paced reflection hours are additional and do not count toward the 10 live hours.
Do I need to submit recordings?
Review of up to three recordings is included for every participant. Complete three submissions using recordings or written reflections in any combination. Recordings are optional unless required by your credential pathway. We will discuss what applies to you during your Welcome and Pathway Conversation.
Can I choose my session dates?
Yes. With rolling enrollment, you select available dates for each of the seven distinct group topics and schedule your individual sessions separately. Group topics may be completed in any order, within your six-month completion window and the minimum three-month mentor-coaching period.
Who is Mentor Coach Foundations designed for?
Grounded in the ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies, this course explores how the ICF Core Competencies, ACC BARS, and PCC Markers inform your work with ACC and PCC coaches. Designed to support experienced mentor coaches pursuing the ICF Credit for Prior Learning pathway or completing continuing education for MCS renewal. For coaches new to mentor coaching, Foundations is the first step in our planned 41-hour education sequence.
What does Advanced Mentor Coach Development explore?
Build your capacity for thoughtful observation, competency-based feedback, and effective individual and group mentor coaching. Together with our 10-hour Mentor Coach Foundations course, this planned sequence is designed to fulfill the 41-hour mentor coach education requirement for ICF's Standard MCS pathway, grounded in the ICF Mentor Coaching Competencies. Additional credential eligibility and level-specific evaluation training requirements apply.
Does the Foundations course award the MCS designation?
No. Foundations provides mentor coach education. ICF awards the MCS designation after reviewing the applicable credential, education, experience, and evaluation-training requirements.
How do the 10 hour and 31 hour courses connect?
Foundations is the first step in our planned 41-hour mentor coach education sequence. Advanced Mentor Coach Development adds 31 hours. Experienced mentor coaches may instead be exploring the 10-hour course for the Credit for Prior Learning pathway or continuing education for MCS renewal.
